This house was my first owned house that was purchased to move closer to be around my oldest son and his family to help where needed as needed. I lived on a court ordered income that even when messed up by that person, I’d usually be able to dig up the mortgage. So I decided to try to modify the loan to make it more reasonable so even if he again, got fired, laid off or just quit I could still figure it out.  The company doing the modification had a A+ rating, and answered my questions properly as if they’d done research. I took names of people I spoke with including the lawyers and the different shifts. Made the payments when I said I would. During this I found out my original loan company who had nothing nice to say to me had a modification section in their company that I wasn’t directed to or told of until they found out I’d hired another company.  Well, the company I went with and about $5000 or $6000 later, they folded or split up to be another company. By that time my lender had hired a lawyer to sell my house. So I’d have 5 or 6 or more people come to my door a day for a couple months, tell me I wasn’t going to be successful that they’d take it off my hands no problem. I kept all those fliers and cards and when I decided it was time to stop trying to modify, I chose Joel Harriger.  When he came to drop off his information he wasn’t just trying to push me out to get in he listened to what went wrong. I’m disabled and sometimes the stress of this sort of thing can physically make a person with autoimmune disease worse.  But he didn’t let me or my daughter down. She had to move elsewhere too, but by that time I had no income at all. The modification company, who was out of Utah wasn’t having anymore to do with us, but Joel was patient.  We walked through the house and property and I told him what I would have done with it. He’s done a great job! I’d refer him to anyone looking to get out of their house in tough circumstances. He’s fair, a nice guy, respectful of the situation we were in, and does what’s best for both the home owner and his job.  Out of about 250 people that wanted that place I’m glad I chose him to flip that house.
